AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Willie Helen (Gant) Jones was born December 10, 1934 to the late Rev. Daniel and Mary L. (Evans) Gant of Thomson, Ga. She entered into rest on March 19, 2009 at Doctors Hospital, Augusta. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized as a member of Woodlawn C.M.E. Church, Harlem, Ga. She leaves to cherish in her memory: her beloved husband, Russell Jones, Sr.; three sons with one preceding her in death, Eric S. Jones, Sr., Mr. Russell (Sherry) Jones, Jr. of Grovetown, Mr. Kelvin (Matachi) Jones, Sr. of Evans; one daughter, Mrs. Katherine (Wayman) Bell of Grovetown; one sister, Mrs. Irene G. Carwell of Augusta; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; a special friend, Mrs. Parthenia Tolbert of Harlem; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in- law, and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Harlem, Ga., Rev. Larry Edmund officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn C.M.E. Church Cemetery, Harlem, Ga.
