Willie CarterGroton - Willie Swift Carter, 80, of 39 Village Lane, Groton, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at home.Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was the son of the late Willie and Lula (Edwards) Swift. He was a bus driver for Brooklyn Jr. Academy in New York.He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Willie Carter; a brother, Nathaniel Carter; a sister, Fannie Bellamy; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 60 Blackhall St., New London. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.Arrangements are entrusted to the Lester Gee Funeral Home, 108 Blinman St., New London.
