A private family graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Crestwood Cemetery for William Thomas "Bill" Akin II, 42, Hokes Bluff, who passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007. Dr. Tommy Ferguson will officiate. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Chapel is in charge.Mr. Akin was a 1983 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School and a graduate of Jacksonville State University.He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Jr. and Delite Kramer Akin; his sister who raised him, Patricia Akin Morris; brothers, Jim and Mike Akin; niece, Delite Morris Carnell; and grandparents, Ruby and J.D. Morris and Mr. and Mrs. James H. Akin Sr.He is survived by his brother, Johnny (Ellen) Akin; chosen dad, Roy Dale Morris (Marlion); sisters-in-law, Marian Akin, Marie Akin and Tammy Akin; nephews, Rod (Susan) Morris, Sean Akin, Matt (Sandra) Akin, Michael (Tabitha) Akin, Will Akin, Trey Morris and Jerry Carnell; nieces, Laura Morris, Julie Akin and Heather, Anna and Emily Thomas; and aunts and uncles, Charles (Patty) Morris, Buddy (Barbara) Morris, Joe (Linda) Morris, Jerry (Pam) Morris, Ray (Jane) Morris, Gwen Kifer and Elaine Spurlock.Pallbearers will be family and friends.The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to the Goodyear Heights Baptist Church building fund or Hokes Bluff Baptist Church Children's Fund.There will be no visitation.
