William Thelen, 76, of Hobe Sound died Dec. 17, 2007, at Treasure Coast Hospices, Stuart. He was born in Webster, Kan. He was a member of the Walton Road Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was an Army veteran, serving in Korea. He lived in Florida for 1½ years, coming from Hooker, Okla. Survivors include his sisters, Kathryn Baber of Hobe Sound, Shirley Estridge of Mississippi, Mary Beck of Omaha, Neb., and Adella Jones of Lakesberg, Calif.; brother, Robert Thelen of Topeka, Kan. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 1201 S.E. Indian St, Stuart, FL 34997. SERVICES: Arrangements are by Veterans Cremation & Burial Society Stuart. 
