O'KEEFE William P., 90, of the Tom Miller Rd., Plattsburgh, NY died late Friday evening at his home. Mr. O'Keefe married the former Margaret Lishnak at St. Joseph's Church in Paterson, NJ in 1951. They made their home in Totowa, NJ for 53 years before moving to Plattsburgh in 2008.Mr. O'Keefe graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy in 1944 and served during WWII in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres. After the war he became an elementary school teacher in the Fair Lawn, NJ School system, retiring in 1983.He was a member of St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville and formerly of St. James Church in Totowa, NJ.Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons, Steven O'Keefe, John O'Keefe and his wife Cynthia, grand-daughters, Lorien McCormick-Blaine and her husband Andrew, Jocelyn O'Keefe and Erin O'Keefe; two great grandchildren, Zoey and Zane Blaine, and several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his son William and two brothers, Bertram and Robert O'Keefe.Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.Donations, in his memory, may be made to Hospice of the North Country.Online condolences may be made at www.rwwalkerfh.com.
