William "Bill" Ashley Malone, 84, of 301 Peach Valley Drive, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, at his home.Born January 2, 1922, in Spartanburg, S.C., he was the son of the late William Franklin and Lois Clement Malone and the husband of Gladys Virginia Easler Malone. Mr. Malone was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, Class of 1939, a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees, and retired from Bi-Lo Super Market and Sunshine Biscuit. He was a member of Peach Valley Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, usher, and on various committees. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William Terry and Vickey Malone of Easley; two daughters, Barbara Malone of Greenville, and Billie Malone Moody and her husband, Michael, of Honea Path; a brother; four sisters; six grandsons, Matt, Brad, and Lee Malone, Greg Thompson, Josh and Adam Moody; two granddaughters, Laurie Edmondson and Kerry Ludlam; and four great-grandchildren, Bradley and Brittany Malone, Caroline and Margaret Thompson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2006, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Mike Moody and the Rev. Greg Thompson.
