Mack, William "Billy" COLONIE William "Billy" Mack, 73, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital, with his loving family at his bedside. Bill was born on March 29, 1939 in Pittsfield, Mass. He is the son of the late William Henry and Dorothy Rita Mack. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. In 1966 he was hired by Jack Welch and became one of the pioneers to develop a new plastics initiative with GE Plastics, Selkirk, N.Y. After 33 years of service, he retired from GE. Upon retirement, Bill worked as a consultant for Polymer Resources in Connecticut. Bill was a long time race horse owner. He was a Boston sports team enthusiast. Over the course of his life, he was delighted to have witnessed two Boston Red Sox World Championships. Among other past times, he was an avid golfer who also enjoyed fishing, and hunting. Along with his parents, Bill was predeceased by his wife, Sheila Mack. Bill was a devoted father to Daniel (Dawn) Mack, Dennis (Michele) Mack, Colleen (Edmond) Sanders and Daryl (Shannon) Mack. He especially enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, Brittney, Nicholas, Sean, Julianne, Jordan, and Jessica. Bill was also survived by two brothers, Bobby (Karen) Mack and Ronald (Donna) Mack. The family invites friends and relatives to calling hours Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home. A gathering for a funeral service will be on Monday November 5, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, interment will be held at Memory Gardens.
