MARTIN William Leroy Martin Sr., 82, long time resident of Jacksonville, passed away on Sunday night, July 13, 2003 surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on May 28, 1921 in Honeyhill, South Carolina. He was a WWII veteran and served in the European Theater. He was a past master and life member of LaCandeur Lodge #36, Charleston, South Carolina. He was a past-Exalted Ruler of Jacksonville Beach Lodge #1901 at the Elks. He retired from civil service at Mayport NAS after 32 years of dedicated service. "Papa" will be missed by wife, Lois, 5 children, William Martin Jr. (Belinda), Betty Bentzel (Billy), Robert Brown (Pat), Trisha Holden (Joey), Tracye Lingerfelt (David) 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 11:00 AM at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, Fl.
