WILLIAM LEE JOHNSON FORMERLY OF PORTAGE, IN William Lee Johnson passed away September 25, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 78. He was born to Nelson and Leona (Ferguson) Johnson on December 31, 1931 in Tulsa, OK. Bill as he was known to his family and friends served his country proudly under the direction of the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, during the Korean War. He made Lake Havasu his home 29 years ago from Portage, IN. Bill was an electrical engineer at the Yuma Proving Grounds for 10 years and also was employed at Northern Indiana Public Service Company in Indiana for 30 years. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion, attended Stonebridge Christian Fellowship and was president of Portage Chamber of Commerce in Indiana. Bill leaves behind his son, Randal Johnson of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughters: Phyllis Allison and her husband Marv of Valparaiso, IN, Suzanne Greenfield and her husband Perry of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Jeannine Apathy and her husband Greg of Valparaiso, IN; sister, Lois Clifton and her husband Lewis of Elkhart, IN; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Stonebridge Christian Fellowship. Pastor Richard Tatham will offer words of comfort and inspiration. In lieu of flowers, donations may be in Bill's name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405. Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at lietz-frazefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
