William J. Lyons, 44, of Stony Point, died January 14, 2001. Born August 24, 1956 in Suffern, NY to Dennis and Dorothy (Stila) Lyons, he was a lifelong Tomkins Cove/Stony Point resident. He was an owner-operator of Wel-Transport under lease to L.J. Kennedy of Kearney, NJ. He also served from 1973-1975 in the United States Army. Survivors include his mother Dorothy Lyons Frazier of Pomona, 4 brothers, Dennis of Newburgh, NY; Vernon of Stony Point; his brother and business partner Edward of Stony Point and Joseph of Pearl River, NY, also 2 sisters, Ruth Lyons of Stony Point and Rita Lyons of Garnerville. He is survived as well by his 4 children Christina and Angela Lyons of Stony Point, Mathew Metress of Pearl River, NY; William Lyons Ingersal of upstate, NY, and many nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by his father Dennis in 1984. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Edward C. Finn Funeral Home in Stony Point. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2001 at 10 am with burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
