William Hyatt, né en 1944, conjoint de Brenda-M. Hyatt, fils de Sease-A et Jessie-Bevis-Hyatt, père de Larry, Melissa, Megan et S. C, est décédé le 11 septembre 2006 à l'âge de 61 ans.
William Wayne Hyatt, 61, died September 11, 2006, in Asheville, N.C. He had been living at an assisted living facility in Black Mountain, N.C. Mr. Hyatt was born October 24, 1944, in Gaffney, SC, the son of the late Sease A. Hyatt and Jessie Bevis Hyatt Clary. Following his education at public schools in Gaffney, he received a B.A. from Furman University and M. Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.Mr. Hyatt retired from the SC Dept. of Corrections in 1997, after serving 16 years as Senior Chaplain at Perry Correctional Institution. During his career, he also served as Chaplain at the Greenville County Detention Center and the SC State Hospital in Columbia. In addition to his work as chaplain, he once served as Executive Director of the Moore County Center for the Developmentally Disabled in Pinehurst, N.C. He also was pastor of three Baptist churches in North Carolina.He is survived by a son, Larry Hyatt; two daughters, Melissa Hyatt and Megan Hyatt, all of Mauldin, S.C.; his former wife, Brenda M. Hyatt of Mauldin; a brother, H. Donald Hyatt and wife, Nancy of Blythewood, S.C.; a niece; and three nephews.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Oakland Cemetery in Gaffney, conducted by the Reverend John L. Yost, III. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Messiah Lutheran Church for the social ministry fund, 1100 Log Shoals Road, Mauldin, SC 29662.
