William H. "Wild Bill" Michel WEST BLOOMFIELD/ DELTA JUNCTION, Alaska - William "Wild Bill" Michel, age 61, died on Aug. 1, 2010 in an airplane crash at Denali Park, Alaska. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Michel. He is survived by his wife, Barbie; brothers and sisters, Edmund (Marsha) Michel of Panama City, Fla., Patricia (James) Power of Palmyra, Ritamarie (Ray) Dreimiller of Bloomfield, Daniel (Robbyn) Michel of Sterling, Alaska and Christine (Scott) Hachten of Bloomfield; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and stepchildren. In the early 1970s Bill headed to Alaska and started a construction business, but his passion was always flying. He flew tens of thousands of hours throughout Alaska, delivering supplies and building airfields in the most remote areas. Bill lived and died doing what he loved best and will be missed by everyone that ever had the pleasure of knowing him. A memorial service was held Saturday, August 7, in Delta Junction.
