Pitts, age 76 of Lawton, OK, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Highland Cemetery. Burial with full military honors is under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.Sgt. Pitts died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Lawton.He was born January 24, 1938 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to James Herbert and Mattie Bell (Victory) Pitts. He married Chom San Pak on May 13, 1966 in Seoul, South Korea. She died August 2, 1993. Sgt. Pitts was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He also received numerous other awards, including the Bronze Star and the Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from the U.S. Army in March 1980. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5263.Survivors include a son, Ho Choe and his wife Heesuk, Santa Rosa, California; four sisters, Patty Scott, Deb Brown, Agnes Faye Hunter and Linda Pitts; and a brother, Jerry E. Pitts, all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two grandsons, Daniel Choe, Tampa, Florida and Junior Choe, Santa Rosa; and two great-grandsons, Simon Choe and Logan Choe, both of Santa Rosa.He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Sung Choe.An online guest book and sympathy cards are available at www.beckerfuneral.com.
