->DALLAS, Ore. -- Wenonah Bernice Rickards Brown died Oct. 18, 2008, at the Dallas Retirement Village at the age of 98.She was born Feb. 13, 1910, in Saint John, New Brunswick, to Ewen and Perla (Garrick) Williams. She came to the United States when she was 14, living in Maine. In 1944 she moved to San Francisco. She married Sentill Rickards on Nov. 30, 1927. She worked for many years in the grocery business. Sentill died Dec. 24, 1967, and she later married James Brown on Sept. 14, 1975; he predeceased her on Oct. 10,1985. She moved to Dallas, Ore., in 1975. She was a member of the Rebekahs, Eastern Star and EBC. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting.Wendy is survived by her sons, Robert Rickards of Sisters and Lee Rickards of Yuma, Ariz., and Independence; daughter Marjorie Creecy of Salem; sisters Muriel Johnson of Dallas, and Lillian Berry of Augusta, Maine; brother Ewen Williams of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Polk County Food Bank. Online condolences may be sent at www.dallastri-bute.com.
