ADEN Wayne Sam Aden - 11-8-26 to 11-22-11 Born November 8, 1926 in Chappell, Nebraska (as an only son with 3 older sisters) Wayne Aden died one week after his 85th birthday on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Wayne is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy, his two daughters, Betty and Simone and his son, Sam. His legacy also includes 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Wayne was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War in which he proudly served as a gunner's mate in the Navy. Wayne spent his life working with his hands. He was an auto body and paint specialist for years; working for Sikes and Stowe, Volkswagen and then his own business - S & W Metal Works. In the early 1990's he designed and built a triple-axle RV which he drove all over the United States for more than 10 years; during which time he and his wife managed to visit almost every National Park on the registry. On Saturdays you would find him at home watching either NASCAR racing or college football. Although he loved the garnet and gold, his favorite color was black - often dressing like a Nebraskan version of Johnny Cash - all the way down to his black leather cowboy boots. If you knew him, you knew his coffee could never be too hot, nor his milk too cold. A committal service with military honors will be held at Jacksonville's National Cemetery on December 9, 2011 at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church at 2636 New Berlin Road.
