Dr. Wayne P. Todd, 70, of 48 Mainsail Drive, died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001. He was born in Mesa, Arizona, January 27, 1931, son of the late John Newton and Alice Perrin Todd. He was a graduate of Southwestern at Memphis (now Rhodes College) and Union Theological Seminary. As a minister in the Presbyterian Church, he had pastorates at Atkinson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Morgan City, La., and at First Presbyterian Church in Florence, Ala. Dr. Todd was very active in both church and community during his ministry, holding positions at the Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly levels. While in Florence, Alabama, he served on many community boards and received many honors, including Muscle Shoals Citizen of the Year in 1979. He is survived by his wife, Carol; five children, Wayne Perrin Todd Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Dr. A. Taylor Todd of Birmingham, Ala., Alice Todd Butker of Decatur, Ga., Martha Todd Sloan of Flat Rock, N.C., Charlotte Todd Fitzpatrick of Pendleton, Ky.; one brother, Dr. William Newton Todd, of Richmond, Va.; and nine grandchildren. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, Clemson, S.C. The family requests no flowers.
