Wayne G. Morin, 59, of Vernon, died Monday, (March 14, 2004) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Elaine (Forbes) Morin. Born in Southbridge, MA, son of Florence (Arseneault) Morin and the late Dolore Morin, he was raised in Thompson, and had lived in Vernon for over 30 years. Wayne had worked for the State of Connecticut Dept. of Corrections, for 23 years before retiring at the rank of Captain. He then became a Sheriff in the Tolland County Court and most recently held the position of Chief Judicial Marshal for the Tolland County Court. He was also an avid boater. Besides his wife and mother, Wayne leaves his sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Diane Morin and Chad and Donna Morin all of Woodstock; seven grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Joan Purdy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rte. 83), Vernon with the Rev. Jessie Barber officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Vernon. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
