Retired Georgia National Guard WASHINGTON, Ga.- Mr. Wayne Edwards Henderson, 71, of Crescent Dr., entered into rest Monday morning at his home. Mr. Henderson was a native of Wilkes County and had lived there all of his life. He was the son of the late Bernard Zachary Henderson, Sr. and Lucille Edwards Henderson. He retired from the Georgia National Guard and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Washington First Baptist Church with Dr. John Childers officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bailey Henderson, of the home; one daughter, Jan H. Howard and husband, Sonny of Washington; one brother, B.Z. Henderson, of Washington; one sister, Margaret Worley, of Elberton; and one grandson, Morgan Howard, of Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Washington.
