Wayne Davis WOODRUFF, SC-- Cecil Wayne Davis, 59, of 143 Bridwell Road, died Friday, September 13, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare. A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of Roberta Ann Owings Davis of Woodruff and the late Cecil Edward Davis. He was a member of Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church and retired from Tietex with 35 years of service. He was an avid golfer and hunter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and also his friends at Three Pines Country Club. Mr. Davis was a 1972 graduate of Woodruff High School. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Wayne and Kristi Wessinger Davis of Goose Creek, SC; and three grandchildren, Carson Wayne Davis, Logan Alexander Wessinger and Bryan Edward Davis. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Phillip Edward Davis. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 16, 2013, at 6:30 P.M. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel in Woodruff by Rev. Randall Parnell. Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:15 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 464 Woodruff Street, Woodruff, SC 29388.
