Wayne A. Quinn Oct. 26, 1950 - Feb. 8, 2015 VOLUNTOWN - Wayne A. Quinn, 64, of Voluntown, passed away Sunday evening at the Backus Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Wayne was born October 26, 1950 in New London, Connecticut, the son of the late William E. Quinn, Sr. and Ruth E. Vine Quinn. He was married on October 15, 1983 to the love of his life, Katherine R. Guertin, who survives him. Wayne was a graduate of New London High School, class of 1968. He attended the University of Texas at El Paso where he studied business administration. Wayne was employed at I.T. Dealers Supply, Inc. in Franklin, Connecticut for 40 years, where he served as president for the past 12 years. Wayne is also survived by his sons, Adam and Devin; his daughter-in-laws, Jennifer and Heather. Wayne also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Jazmine, Ethan, and Sawyer. Words cannot express how much he loved and adored them. Wayne also leaves behind his sister, Ellen Quinn Ashburn, and brothers William E. Quinn, Jr. and Thomas G. Quinn, as well as many nieces and nephews. Wayne will always be remembered for his many stories and witty comments. When he was not spending time with family and friends, he was out working in the yard on his Kubota. He enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams, the Patriots and the Red Sox. He enjoyed eating an ice cream sundae with plenty of hot fudge. Wayne was always there for his family and friends helping in any way that he could. Wayne was also a devoted member of the Voluntown Baptist Church. Wayne was passionate for his family and loved his wife Katherine dearly. He was extremely proud of his sons. His family and friends will miss him immensely. Calling hours will be held on Friday February 13th from 5:00 -7:00 P.M. at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, Connecticut. A Memorial Service will be held at the Voluntown Baptist Church on Saturday February 14th at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
