WHITTAKER, Captain Walter Walter Charles Whittaker passed away peacefully in Vancouver, on June 7, 2004, after a lengthy illness at the age of 77. Walter was a WW II Veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy, Fleet Air Arm. He was the son of Charles Samuel Whittaker who was a veteran of WW I and WW II and his mother, Marion Brown Whittaker. Walter was very much loved and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends around the world. He is survived by his daughter, Crystal of Vancouver, his brother Vic Whittaker of Ottawa, and in Toronto by his sister, Elaine and her husband, Robert; his brother Vincent and his wife Marlyn of Toronto, also by his nephew, Geoffrey and his wife Denise and daughter Kathleen of Toronto, and by his niece, Allison, and her husband Bjorn of Barry, Ontario and their sons Aleksander and Samuel Holm and his niece, Leslie Whittaker of London, England and numerous family and friends around the world. Walter loved and sailed the 7 seas and was a free spirit. A memorial service was held at the United Church, 2062 Esquimalt Ave., West Vancouver, B.C. Donations may be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
