POWELL Walter J., 83, of Stroudsburg, PA, formerly of Emerson, NJ, on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Walter was born in Midland Park, NJ to his mother, the late Eva Pearson Powell and his father the late John Powell and his wife Helen. Before retiring, Walter was an insurance inspector with Royal Globe Insurance Company. Beloved husband of the late Anita Powell. Devoted father of Laura Daniels and her husband Tom, Jamie Powell and his wife Barbara, Glenn Powell and his wife Debbie, Jack Powell, Donna Picciallo, Michael Picciallo and his wife Cathy. Walter is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will gather with their relatives and friends for a Funeral Service at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, West-wood, NJ on Saturday, April 18 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. The family will receive their family and friends on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Walter's name to Visiting Nurse Association of St. Luke's, 2455 Black River Road, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
