Flanagan, Walter DELMAR Walter Flanagan, 71, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Born in Troy, Walter was a longtime resident of Colonie. He worked for many years for the South Colonie School District and was a former paramedic with the Colonie Fire Department. Also, he was a communicant of the Church of St. Clare in Colonie. Walter was the son of the late Thomas and Anne Hayden Flanagan and brother of Sr. Mary Jacinta of Latham and the late Thomas J. Flanagan. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Church of St. Clare, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie. Relatives and friends may also visit prior to the Mass, from 8 to 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Walter's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home and the Community Hospice of Albany County.
