Walter Erikson, 92, a lifelong resident of Palmer passed away on March 5, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center. He worked for Western Mass. Electric for 35 years and was a retiree for 30 years. He is survived by a daughter, Joy, sons Erik, Peter and Paul, son-in-law Wayne, daughter-in-laws Theresa and Laure. He also leaves grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Stephen, Faith, Christine, Amber, Renee, Luke and 6 great grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion, the Royal British Legion and a proud patriotic WWII Veteran, who first served in the British military, because of a heart condition. He later served as a sergeant in the 40th air engineer squadron of the US Army and was honorably discharged on June 15, 1947. He was happily married for 67 years, to Joyce (Lovejoy) Erikson who passed away in 2014. A Calling hour will be held on Friday, Mar., 13th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home.
