William Flanagan (Pop-Pop), 76, of Edgewater, a laboratory supervisor for DuPont Laboratories, Newark, DE for 43 years, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010. Mr. Flanagan, who served in the U.S. Navy, was born in Darby, PA and moved to the area in 1997 from Newark. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Delaware and enjoyed fishing and animals. Survivors include his companion of four years, Kay Elliott of Edgewater; two sons, Michael of New Smyrna Beach and Nicholas of Newark; two daughters, Amy Gardner of Wilmington, DE and Kelly Wilson of Middletown, DE; five sisters, Sandra Longnecker of New Smyrna Beach; Alice Aurig of Edgewater; Chad Lear of Chester, PA; Mary DiVirgilio of Northeast, MD and Betty Bailey of Chadds Fort, PA; eleven grandchildren, Korin, Erin, Marilyn, Dominic, Kevin, Vincent, Danielle, Travis, Jesse, Austin and Cassidy and two great-grandchildren, Elise and Liam. He was preceded in death by a son, Chad and a sister, Sis Schnatz. Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. Memorial donations may be made to Edgewater Animal Services, P.O.
