Funeral for Vivian Owens Smith, 82, of Decatur will be Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Smothers officiating. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith, who died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital, was born July 30, 1923, in Morgan County. She retired as a bus driver for the city of Decatur and Morgan County after 30 plus years.Survivors include her husband, Raymond Smith; three sons, Richard Owens and his wife, Dorothy, of Augusta, Ga., Jack Owens of Decatur and Norman “Butch” Owens and his wife, Jacqueline, of Stone Mountain, Ga.; one stepson, Raymond Smith of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter, Nancy Ward of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Fain, Jack Owens II, Katherine Guthrie, Michael Wilson, Eric Owens, Kevin Owens and Gina Wilson; and seven great grandchildren, Jesse Fain, Gina Katherine Wilson, Spencer Guthrie, Taylor Owens, Tyler Owens, Kailyn Owens and Blake Owens.
