HomemakerLAKELAND -- Mrs. Virginia May Whittaker of Lakeland died of heart failure Sunday (March 23, 2003) at Lakeland. She was 75.Born in Elbing, Kan., on Feb. 4, 1928, she came to Lakeland from Madison, Kan., 10 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a Lutheran and member of the Missouri Synod.Mrs. Whittaker was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Spellman. She is survived by her second husband, Thomas S. Whittaker; daughter, Sherry Jones, Wichita, Kan.; sisters, Esther Wade, Lakeland, Mildred Hailey, Augusta, Kan., Maxcine Yockey, Emporia, Kan.; brother, Don Scheck, Madison.Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakeland.
