Born in Rensselaer, August 7, 1924, she was the daughter of the late C. Fiske and Elizabeth (Moore) Tefft. A graduate of Rensselaer High School, Virginia worked for Wever Petroleum for many years. Virginia was on the board of directors at Hudson View Cemetery for many years and had served as the cemetery's treasurer. Her camp on Hedges Lake, Cambridge was somewhere that Virginia enjoyed spending much of her free time. It was a place of comfort for her and allowed her to spend quality time with her family. Although the calmness of the lake was something she appreciated, she also enjoyed driving her boat. She could be seen playing Scrabble, as well as Upwards, was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crafts for her churches and she also spent many hours tending to her garden. Sadly, Virginia was predeceased by her husband, William J. Moore in 1990; and also her beloved son, Jeffrey C. Moore, who died in 2008; along with sisters, Sylvia T. Chesser, Hazel Tefft, and Betty Benevides. She is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Angela G. Moore of Mechanicville; and her cherished grandson, Jason C. Moore of Hemstreet Park as well as several nieces and nephews. Although her immediate family was small, Virginia had a large extended family of friends, who commonly referred to her as Grandma Jinny, especially the family of Lucy Golden. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 16 at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville at 7 p.m. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in the family plot at Hudson View Cemetery.
