TUSCALOOSA ALABAMA - Virginia Spears Williams age 98 died Monday May 2 2005 in Tuscaloosa Alabama. A native of Humboldt Tennessee she was born February 6 1907. Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home 3802 Watermelon Road. Dr. Kenneth Dunivant will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Humboldt Tennessee on Friday May 6. prior to moving to Tuscaloosa in 1992 Virginia Williams had a long career with the Department of Agriculture in Nashville Tennessee. This was followed by several years in Real Estate Management in Albuquerque New Mexico. She is survived by her son Charles W. Williams of Albuquerque; and her daughter Pat Williams Briggs and son-in-law Jim Briggs of Tuscaloosa. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Charles Williams II and Grant Spears Williams and his wife Tracy of Albuquerque Sarah Invicta Williams of Sante Fe Patrice Briggs Sloan and her husband Jimmy of Tuscaloosa and Dr. Judson Briggs and his wife Tammy of Atlanta Georgia. In addition she is survived by ten great grandchildren and nephew Dr. C.. Don Hardison and wife Jennifer of Athens TN and niece Jo Ann Spears of Tupelo MS. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Evelyn Hardy and the staff of La Rocca for the loving care given our mother during her final year.
