Virginia (Ginger) of Gaines, PA 40, formerly of Mont Clare and Reading, PA, died Thursday, July 11, 2002. Born January 27, 1962, in Phoenixville, PA, she was the daughter of Glenn and Elizabeth Arters Beener, Jr. On June 27, 1981, in Phoenixville, she married James K. Smith, who survives. A graduate of Spring Ford High School in Royersford and Reading Area Community College, she was employed as a registered at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro and the Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport. She was a member of the Galeton First Baptist Church and the Gaines-Elk Council of Republican Women. Surviving besides her husband are: her parents of Jim Thorpe, PA; two sons, Kyle J. Smith and Nathan T. Smith; a daughter, Emily E. Smith; three brothers, Glenn (Bambi) Beener III of Waynesboro, VA, Richard A. (Kelly) Beener of Mont Clare, PA, and Kenneth R. (Shari) Beener of Spring City, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Galeton First Baptist Church on Saturday, July 13th from 12-2 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Richard Tintle, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Knowlton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Collins-Olney Funeral Home, Galeton, PA.
