Virginia Ruth Johnson Bennett MOORE, SC-- Mrs. Virginia Ruth Johnson Bennett, of 134 Countryside Circle, passed Sunday evening, October 11, 2009 at the Mary Black Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Mr. Joseph N. Bennett, Sr. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Johnson and Mrs. Myrtle Boyd Johnson. She was a member of the Harrison Grove Baptist Church. She was retired for the Mountain View Nursing Home. Survivors include one son, Joseph N. Bennett, Jr. of Gaffney, SC; two daughters, Jacqueline Mills and Gena Bowers, both of Spartanburg, SC; three brothers, Raymond Johnson and Nathaniel Johnson, both of Spartanburg; Tony Johnson of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Percilla Harper and Lucille Stevens, both of Spartanburg; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Willie Mae Dodd; and one brother, Mr. Edward Johnson. The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gena Bowers at 146 Waite Avenue. J. W.
