GARDINER -- Virginia Pearl Lathe "Ginny" Clark of Gardiner died peacefully at home July 23, 2011. She was born July 21, 1930, at home 27 No. Chestnut St., Augusta, the elder of two daughters of Raymond W. Lathe and Lillian M. (Freeman) Lathe. The family moved to Hallowell, where Ginny received her schooling.She graduated from the old Hallowell High School in 1948, she also attended the one-room Loudon Schoolhouse.After living on Maple Street in Hallowell for more than 53 years, she and David moved to Cobbossee Avenue in Gardiner.She is predeceased by her parents; uncles and aunts. She married Harold A. Choate in 1950 and had two sons. In 1966, she married David B. Clark and had another son. She is survived by husband David B. Clark of Gardiner, who she was married to for more than 44 years; sons Harold A Choate Jr., his wife, Dedes, and children Alexander and Lilliana of Gardiner, Corrie R. Choate of Farmingdale and his daughter, Katelyn Gebhart, and her husband, Bradley, and daughters, Olivia Pearl, and Lillian Mae, of New Oxford, Pa., David B. Clannon (nee Clark Jr.) and wife LaMarr and daughter Lilith Audacity of Litchfield; sister Joanne Knowles of Manchester; dear friend Joan Lathe of Augusta and Jupiter, Fla.; dear friend and grandmother to Lilith, Laura Cannon.She had worked for the Employment Security Commission and Highway Department State of Maine, Cottle's Shop & Save in the coffee shop, Kennebec County Sheriff's Department, Chambers Ford Dealer swap, and as a driver for Jan Brown, an independent living counselor. She also had been a member of Crisis & Counseling, The Family Violence Project, and a member of the Maine Old Cemetery Association for 39 years where she had been membership secretary and a board member, and a member of the Loudon Hill Community Club in Hallowell, and a member of the Hallowell Antique Dealer Association. She also had been a dealer of antiques (smalls and collectibles).There will be no funeral services. There will be a private burial later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care; the Kennebec Valley Humane Society; or the Maine Old Cemetery Association. There will be a celebration of her life at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 at Slates Restaurant in Hallowell.
