Virginia Louise Mapp Johnson, 86, of Athens, died April 2, 2012. Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2012, at New Grove Baptist Church, Winterville, with family hour one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Veronica Sheppard; sons, Gregory T. and Byron D. Johnson; sisters, Thelma Binford, Mable Callaway, and Mary Wise; brother, Curtis Mapp; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Gardenview Funeral Chapel, Athens, has charge of arrangements.
