JOHNSON, Virginia Lou "Ginger" 77, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Aug. 2, 2011. She was born to the late Ralph and Mildred Lou Rodman, July 21, 1934, in Indianapolis. There, she met the love of her life, the late Robert "Junior" Shadday. They married in 1949 and had four children. She later married Bob Johnson of Owensboro, KY, who also predeceased her. Ginger moved to St. Petersburg in the early 1980s to be closer to her children but Indy always had her heart. She worked at the Rutland Bank and Franklin Templeton, and was known for her wise counsel and interesting conversations over cups of coffee. She thrived on country music sing-alongs with the family; great books, especially those by Pearl S. Buck; and two pals who never disagreed with her, her dogs Shadow and Minnie. In her home, she surrounded herself with reflections of nature's beauty, including flowers and butterflies. She is survived by her children, Lawrence Shadday of Tampa, Rickie Shadday of Indianapolis, and Tamara Lou Shadday of St. Petersburg; grand- daughters, Brenda Sain and Melanie Shadday; and great-grandchildren Obed, Noah, Ethan, Virginia Laurel and Keiran Sain. Visitation at 11 am, Wednesday, Aug. 10th, at Conkle Funeral Home in Indianapolis; funeral service follows at 1 pm. Burial to follow at Floral Park.
