ObituaryVirginia Lee Smith, 76, of Naples, passed away on August 23, 2002. Born in Washington, D.C., she spent most of her life in Chevy Chase, MD. She was a former volunteer in the USO and a nursery school teacher at the National Cathedral, Washington, D.C., retiring after 39 years. Mrs. Smith also enjoyed square dancing, children, and dogs. Surviving are her loving husband, Carl Smith of Naples; two stepsons, David Smith of Potomac, MD, and Timothy Smith of Germantown, MD; two stepdaughters, Sandra Nawrocki of Boston, MA, and Linda Johnson of Bristol, RI; a brother, Dr. Harold Sutton of Chicago, IL; and three sisters, Faith Miller of Hartford, CT, Martha Miller of Pittsburgh, PA, and Sarah Sutton of Silver Springs, MD. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Chevy Chase, MD.
