Virginia enjoyed spoiling all her grandchildren, visits from her children, her travels with her best-friend, Margaret, orange poppies and Ole time Country music. She retired in 1996 and enjoyed this time playing with her grandbabies. Virginia was a very humble soul who never wanted any special recognition. She was a kind, gentle caring lady who will be greatly missed. Her children would like to thank Dr. Shannon Kelly for his compassionate care of their mother. The family is especially thankful for their sister, "Aunt Marsha" for the loving and excellent care of mom. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leo and Vernie Harrell; her beloved brothers, Billy, Bobby, Donald and Jimmy; brother-in-law, Neal (Junior) McGinnis; her best friend, Margaret; two special twin grandchildren, Jamie and Adam P.; two twin great grandchildren, Hannah and Jennifer; and our Dad, Everett Lee Carter.Virginia is survived by her children, Ray Carter, Steve Carter, his wife, Sharon, Becky Andress, her husband, Steve A., Marsha Adney, her husband, Daniel, Kenny Carter, Melissa Pamperien and Mark Carter; her eleven grandchildren, Ray, Michael, Brandi, Carrie, Stephanie, Robin, Matthew, Jennifer, Bailey, Hayleigh and Clayton; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; her sister, Nancy McGinnis; a dear friend and special niece, Patricia Harrell-Batson, and a host of loved nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Interment will be in the Yeakley Cemetery directly after the service.
