Virginia was born in Mitchell County on December 9, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Claude and Ida Young Wilson. Virginia was a very devoted member of Maranatha Baptist Church and was well known for her artistic abilities which she used in many different ways. She was also very active in the Republican Party. She will be remembered by her family as a very loving and devoted wife and mother. Preceding Mrs. Johnson in death was her husband of 46 years, Robert L. Johnson.Surviving Mrs. Johnson are a son, Greg Johnson of Marion and a daughter, Marsha Levin of Bluffton, SC.Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:00 am in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Bill Dillon officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
