Mrs. Virginia Fitzgerald Johnson passed away April 14, 2002, at Sunbridge Shoals Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Johnson was born in Tuscumbia on Nov. 1, 1915, to Frank Manson and May Chilton Fitzgerald. She was a lifelong resident of Tuscumbia and a member of Tuscumbia First United Methodist Church.Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Clifford She is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Ruth Fitzgerald Jumper, Sheffield, and Mrs. Martha Fitzgerald Waddell, Tuscumbia; brother-in-law, Mr. James C. Visitation will be 10-10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Tuscumbia Oakwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Samuel Fitzgerald Waddell officiating.The family would like to thank Mrs. Callie Goodloe, the staff and residents of Brentwood Retirement Community, Dr. Gail Tolbert and staff, the doctors and staff of Helen Keller Hospital, and the doctors and staff of Sunbridge Shoals Rehabilitation Center for their kindness to Mrs. Johnson during her final illness.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Missions Fund of Tuscumbia First United Methodist Church.Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
