Virginia Diana Jones, 82, made her transition on Jan. 23, 2011. The celebration of her life will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Whigham Funeral Home, 580 Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Blvd., Newark. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Newark for 82 years. She attended Essex County College, and was a retired record clerk for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church of Nutley and Faithful Christian Ministries. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Jones; loving mother of Ruby A. S. Quockco and Bessie L. Jones; precious grandmother of Kirk D. Quockco, Khailah J. Jones, Halima Quockco and Christopher Carter; daughter of the late General Lee Grant Skipper and Classie Cornelia Robinson- Skipper., and dear sister of Betty Rix and the late Sarah A. Skipper-Moss, Ethel Skipper, Edith Skipper-Middleton, Mary Skipper-Barefield, Edward Skipper, Gus Alexander Skipper and James Skipper (her twin).She also leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
