She was born in Delhi, NY on June 28, 1933 to William A. and Virginia (Lasher) Buel. She was a 1951 graduate of Delaware Academy, Delhi, NY. She was a homemaker and loved caring for her family. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, Greenville, and was a Senior Vice Regent of Colonel Crawford D.A.R. Meadville Chapter. While residing in New York, she was active with 4-H and had served as a club leader in Delaware and Schuyler Counties for fifteen years. She was a leader in A.W.A.N.A., Watkins Glen, NY, and in 1995 was honored as the Leader Of The Year. Her interests included, cooking, sewing, knitting, fishing, and hunting. On June 2, 1956 she married John E. Johnson, he survives at home. Also surviving are three daughters, Joan E. Johnson of Greenville, Virginia C. Kinne and her husband Peter of Lakemont, NY, and Amy M. Stevenson and her husband Roy of Greenville, a son, John E. Johnson, Jr. and his wife Judy of Mt. Pleasant, PA, a sister-in-law, Irene Buel of Delhi, NY, and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Marilyn Buel, and Jean Northrop, and three brothers, Howard Buel, Louis Buel, and Ralph Buel. Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Harvest Baptist Church, Greenville, with Rev. Jeremy D. McClain, Pastor of the church, officiating. Calling hours were held Friday at the Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. Burial of cremains will be private in Pine Grove Cemetery, Meridale, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, 66 Bedford Rd.
