ObituaryVirginia Belle Thulin Miller, 88, a longtime resident of Peoria, Illinois and most recently Fort Myers, Florida died at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Heritage Center in Evansville, Indiana, after a long illness.She was born September 19, 1917 in Peoria, the daughter of Julius and Genevieve Johnson Thulin. She married Dwight Miller on August 31, 1940 in Peoria. After 65 years of marriage, Dwight died on October 21, 2005.She is survived by her daughter Suzanne (and Robert) Farney of Evansville, Indiana; her son, Ron (and Myrna) Miller of Mattoon, Illinois; one sister, Juliet Babbitt of Peoria; five grandchildren: Carmen (and Charles) Stodden of Trilla, Illinois, Nathan (and Catherine) Miller of Toledo, Illinois, Kimberly Farney of Evansville, Indiana, Carolyn (and Tyler) Bennett of Springfield, Missouri, Jennifer Farney of Evansville, Indiana and two great-grandchildren.Virginia graduated from Peoria High School in 1935 and Bradley University in 1939 where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and was active in their Alumnae Association in Peoria and Fort Myers.Virginia was a librarian in Wyandotte and Trenton, Michigan and last worked at Kelly School in Peoria Heights retiring as a Librarian and Media Specialist after 20 years.She was a member of the Peoria Genealogical Society, American Association of University Women, and Alumnae Pan Hellenic of Lee Co.She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria, and Fort Myers United Church of Christ Congregational in Fort Myers.Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Wilton Mortuary, 2101 N. Knoxville Ave. in Peoria. The Rev. Clay MacAulay will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
