Violet Leona White Violet Leona White, 85 of Okeechobee died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at the Hamrick Home in Okeechobee. She was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Crumpler, W. Va. and had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1993, volunteering in the school system and at the hospital.She is preceded in death by her husband Alfred, five brothers, and two sisters.She is survived by her sons: Roger Lee White of Melbourne, Joseph Elliot White (Margaret) of Woodstock, Ga., and Anthony Edward White of Chincoteague, Va. daughters; Rita Gail Surber of Clemmons, N.C., Brenda Sue Close of Okeechobee, Elizabeth Ann Zimmerman (Doug) of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Tina Carnahan Bilansky (Martin) of Pompano Beach; and, brother; Marshall Hedrick of Princeton, W. Va. In addition she was survived by grandchildren; Kelly Clark, Karla Gaus, Pamela White, Roger White, Mechele Petrie, Chris Close, Tonya Hargraves, Mindy Ackerman, Chauncey White, Presley White, Matt Morris, Bart Morris, Jeb Morris, Brandon Carnahan and 14 great grandchildren.Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, FL 34973.The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 18, 2007, from noon until service time at 1 p.m. in the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.All arrangements are under the care and direction of Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory, 110 N.W. Fifth St., Okeechobee.
