DEMPSEY, Violet Elizabeth. Peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga after a courageous battle with leukemia, on Thursday, February 9, 2006, in her seventy-ninth year. Violet (nee Walsh), loving and devoted wife of the late Howard James Dempsey of Newcastle. Dear mother of Brian and his wife Vivian of Calgary, Keith of Newcastle, Leila (Lee) and her husband Bruno Tucci of Mississauga, and Barry of Toronto. Sadly missed by grandchildren Lisa, Nicole, and Steven. Sister of Evelyn and her late husband John Cowie of Calgary and Barbara and her husband Andrew MacKenzie of Montreal. Missed by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may call at the Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill St. S. (1-877-987-3964) on Sunday, February 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Newcastle, on Monday, February 13, at 11 a.m., followed by cremation.
