VIOLET AMELIA MORRISON Violet Morrison, 93, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. She was born June 29, 1912 in Thunder Bay, Ont. to Joseph and Emily Johnson. She was raised in Pinewood, Ont. After marring Benjamin Morrison in 1934, they moved to Thunder Bay. His work then took the family to Sioux Lookout, Ont. and Winnipeg, Man. before settling in Fort Frances in 1948. She was a member of the Knox United Church and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed rug-hooking, gardening, going for walks, and photography. She also was very family orientated and cherished her time with her grandchildren. Violet was predeceased by her parents; husband, Benjamin on Jan. 27, 1964; sons, Don in 1965 and Lorne in 1981; brothers, John, Conley, Walter, and Keith Johnson; and sisters, Mary Bachelor, Ivy Lowe, and Josie Ott. She leaves behind her daughter, Joy Legaree, and son, Bill Morrison, both of Fort Frances, Ont.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Knox United Church in Fort Frances, with Rev. Marietta Marshall officiating. Cremation has taken place in Thunder Bay, and interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances in the spring. The honourary pallbearers will be her grandsons. If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to Knox United Church, 340 Church St., Fort Frances, Ont., or Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc.—La Verendrye Hospital, 110 Victoria Ave., Fort Frances, Ont.
