JOHNSON Viola R. Johnson, age 78, of Stratford, died suddenly at home Monday, December 23, 2003. Born in Kingstree, S.C. Viola had been a resident of Stratford since 1959. During her working years she was employed as a Nurse's Aide with Bridgeport Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and in private duty. Viola was a member of Messiah Baptist Church where she served in the Missionary Circle and was a Church School student; other affiliations include the CT Federation Bible class, the Widows Club, Oriental Chapter # 8 O.E.S. PH. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Cromwell (her husband James) of Stratford; a brother, Willie D. Reed of Maryland; three grandchildren, Tamara M. Cromwell of Stratford, Sgt. Jamara E. Cromwell and Sr. Airman Jamie R. Cromwell; three great- grandchildren, Gabrielle P. Cromwell, Alberto Cromwell and Dante J. Cromwell. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 7 p.m., at Messiah Baptist Church, 210 Congress St., Bridgeport with Rev. Tyrone P. Jones IV, Pastor, officiating. Interment will take place Tuesday, at 10 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Viewing will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2003 at the church. Morton's Mortuary, Inc., 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport is in charge of arrangements.
