MILLER ViJeanne Ellis, 73, of Temple Terrace, FL., passed away July 13, 2002, at John Knox Village Nursing Home where she had resided since December 22, 2001. She was born in Decatur County, GA. on December 21, 1928, the daughter of John F. Ellis and Hilda Ellis Mahan. ViJeanne was a beautiful, intelligent woman who grew up in Deland, Fla. and graduated from Deland High School with honors in 1946. On her own she decided to go to Florida State University from which she graduated in 1950. She then worked full time at the University of Florida and also on her Masters Degree. She met a law student and started law school part time. She won books in two of her five courses for being number one in her class. She quit and married E. Robert Miller, Jr. on July 26, 1952 in Deland, Fla.. Thus they were married 49 years and 352 days or 13 days short of their 50th wedding anniversary. ViJeanne and her husband lived in Jacksonville, Fla. from 1952 to 1967 where Bob practiced law with Howell and Kirby and Mathews, Osborne and Ehrlich. They next moved to Temple Terrace, Fla. after Bob opened his law office in Tampa, Fla. ViJeanne is survived by her husband, E. Robert Miller, Jr.; her son, E. Robert Miller, III; her son, John G. Miller and his wife, Cherie and twin grandchildren, Jeffrey and Heather; and also by her half-sister, Mary Mahan Bass of Palatka, Fla. ViJeanne was a loving, faithful, caring mother and homemaker, a member of the Temple Terrace Womens Club and a Methodist. She was fluent in French and enjoyed her travels around the world. She was liked by all who met her. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
