Veta Elizabeth Jordan SPARTANBURG, SC-- Veta Elizabeth Jordan, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 11, 1935, she was a native of Greenville County and reared in Travelers Rest by her maternal grandparents. She was the daughter of the late Willie Edward and Alma Jessie Lee Jordan. A loving sister, who loved the Lord and was devoted to the Charles Lea Center, Veta was associated with the Center since 1988. She loved her work with the people at the Center and also participated in various programs. She also loved her grandparents, William Arthur and Ellen Lee. William Arthur Lee wrote the fifth verse of "Amazing Grace". Survivors include her sister, Peggy Jordan Gray of the home; brother, David E. Jordan of the home and formerly of Fernandina Beach, FL; nieces, Jenny Gray of the home and Cynthia Gray Gosnell (Randy) of Inman; and four additional nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1:45-2:45 PM Friday, December 13, 2013, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Duncan and the Rev. Terry Fleming. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29615. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charles Lea Center Foundation, 195 Burdette Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
