CHRISTENSEN Vesta Margaret (Marjorie) It is with profound sorrow that the family of Marjorie Christensen announces her passing on March 25, 2008. She is loving remembered by her son Frederick Clifford, her daughter Margaret-Ellen, her son-in-law Stephen and her three grandsons Stephen, Alex and Ian. She was predeceased by her loving husband Dr. Hans Frederick Christensen and by her four brothers, Alex, Ian, Douglas and Edwin and two sisters Lois and Dorothy. Marjorie was born on February 26, 1914 in Herbert, Saskatchewan and grew up in Cabri and Swift Current, Saskatchewan. After finishing school, she worked to achieve an ATCM with which she taught piano until going in training at the Regina General Hospital. In the fall of 1940, she received her RN and went on staff. Marjorie was a person with great compassion, reverence for God, and an indomitable will to do her best at all times. Always sociable, she was an excellent conversationalist and enjoyed listening to and conversing with others. Fond of the written word, Marjorie read for enjoyment, comfort and insight. Her ability to quote many passages from the Bible and from classical poetry will be remembered. In her later life, she wrote several beautiful poems. She enjoyed providing a wonderful home for friends and family in which her empathy and understanding touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her deep devotion and love for her family will always be cherished, and her warm, friendly smile will be missed by all. Marjorie was a strong believer in the divinity and majesty of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and it is in His name that we pray for her eventual resurrection. Funeral services will be held at Canadian Memorial Centre for Peace, 1825 West 16th Ave. (at Burrard), Vancouver on April 11, 2008, at 11:30 am. Kearney Funeral Services 604-736-0268
