Vernon G. Henderson UNION, SC-- Mr. Vernon G. "Chunk" Henderson, 87, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home after a long illness. Mr. Henderson was born in Union, on November 3, 1923, a son of the late Leo B. Henderson, Sr. and Viola Adams Henderson. He was retired from United Merchants, Union Mill, and attended the Church on God on Ravenscroft Street. Surviving are two brothers, Leo B. Henderson, Jr. and wife Norma of Union and Bobby G. "Doc" Henderson, Sr. and wife Juline of Jonesville; and a niece, Kathy Black and husband Rick of Jonesville; and several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Henderson was predeceased by a sister, Lois Inman; and three brothers, Floyd, Paul and Louis Henderson. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 3, 2011 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Roger Estes. Visitation will follow the graveside service at the cemetery.
