Anderson, Vernon FredrickNov. 14, 1920 - Oct. 20, 2007Vernon Fredrick Anderson, 86, Port Charlotte, formerly of St. Louis Park, Minn., died Oct. 20, 2007.Services will be Saturday at noon at Hope Lutheran Church of Port Charlotte. Englewood Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife of sixty years: Marilyn D. Anderson of Port Charlotte; a daughter, Lori Mittag of West Fargo, N.D.; and a son, Dr. James Anderson of North Oaks, Minn.Mr. Anderson is also survived by his son-in-law Dean Mittag; daughter-in-law Colleen Anderson; four granddaughters, Lauren, Stacy, Jennifer and Christina; and one cousin, Betty Aaker.Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant from 1941-1945 during World War II. He moved to Charlotte County 31 years ago. He was a firefighter for the City of St. Louis Park and retired in 1976 after 25 years with the rank of captain.Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Lutheran Church - Challenge Fund, 14200 Hopewell Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33981 in memory of Mr. Anderson.
